About the author:  Harry Lipsky is the best in his field and has appeared in many news magazines and is an expert in the subject of moving on an internet site.  Please read Harry Lipsky's article on choosing a mover, which was published in each of these periodicals -
Smith Mountain Lake News, The Homemaking Cottage, and familyresource.com.

Because of the frustrations of those who are buying new furniture, as well as the homeowners who are preparing for their upcoming move, I have created this service to alleviate the unknown -- the worry over whether new furniture will fit into the home or apartment one now lives in, or moving to, thereby removing the relocation headaches.  Being involved in the moving industry for almost forty years, and a 3rd-generation moving expert, with a strong belief in old-school standards, I can provide essential planning for the homeowner.

My grandfather, Harry Lipsky, started his business with a horse and wagon in Lynn, Massachusetts in 1910. The business grew and so did its reputation.  My father, Jacob Lipsky, took over the business at the early age of fourteen, when his father passed away.  He continued building the business and the name became well-known to dozens of other movers along the entire east coast. The biggest percentage of cliental were from the cities of Lynn, Swampscott, Marblehead, and Peabody. Long-distance moves were provided well before the interstate highways were even constructed.

ARE YOU BUYING NEW FURNITURE SOON?
WILL YOUR FURNITURE FIT THROUGH YOUR DOORWAYS, STAIRWAYS, HALLWAYS OR BASEMENT FAMILY ROOM?
Many times a day all over the country, sofas, armoires, entertainment centers, china hutches and master bedroom suites are returned to the stores from which they came because they won't "FIT" through the doorways, up the stairways, in the elevator and around tight turns. Homes with low ceilings can prevent a sofa from being stood upright in order to make a turn in a hallway.
BEFORE  YOU MAKE THAT LARGE EXPENSIVE PURCHASE and / or wait weeks for it to be delivered, wouldn't you like to know if the item is going to be able to be maneuvered through your house? I will survey, measure and check for hidden obstructions that you may have not thought of. I will take this information and compare it to the measurements of your future purchase(s). If you are moving from one home to another, I will survey your new place (if locally) and see if your OLD furniture will fit. I CAN EVEN GO WITH YOU (IF YOU WANT ME TO SPEND THE TIME) AND CHECK OUT THE PIECES YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING.

At this time PRE-MOVE STRATEGIES IS ONLY SERVING Essex County, MA and Southern NH.     I am not serving the BOSTON area at this time.

Pre-Move Strategies for In-House Moving Surveys in Essex County, MA and southern NH areas.
IT'S TIME TO MOVE....... what do you do?  Organization is the key!  How do you get ready for a mover?  How do you find a mover?  How can you save money?  Can you do the packing yourself?  You are moving into an old house.  Will your furniture fit through all the doorways and/or up the stairway?

I will discuss all your concerns, tell you where you can cut corners, what to do about your antiques, pianos and all large items. Let me make an evaluation of your needs.

I will discuss if hoisting is going to be needed at your other house, how to protect your floors and carpets. What you can do about your plants or pets. We can discuss what size cartons to use if you want to do all or partial packing as well if you should leave drawers full or empty.

I've moved the fanciest mansions, as well as moving people around the country,  delivered for prominent furniture stores, and just about any other challenges that came my way. I was also very involved in commercial moves for such companies as GENERAL ELECTRIC, AMERICAN EXPRESS, MICROSOFT, FIDELITY, PUTNAM INVESTMENTS and many, many more. For the past several years I have been investing my time in doing consulting work, as well as packing and crating for a local auction house.  The time has come to move on to the next level, WHICH IS WHY THIS WEB SITE WAS CREATED FOR THE BEST MOVING STRATIGIES.
Moving is a very stressful time for anyone that needs to be relocated. Many people have never experienced what it is like to go through a move, whether it is local or cross-country. People have lived in their homes for years accumulating goods as the family grew. Now, instead of moving three lightly furnished rooms when you bought the house, you have 8 full rooms and an overflowing basement and garage and an attic that is running out of space.

PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT I DO NOT OPERATE A MOVING SERVICE.
I OPERATE A SERVICE ABOUT MOVING!

"For all of my young life, I wanted nothing more than to be a part of the
family business. I spent every free moment -- Saturdays, vacations and
even afterschool hours working and learning the trade. I just kept learning
all I could about everything. The "old timers" were craftsmen, in their day,
on the art of moving furniture. I was taught how to do it all..........loading,
packing and crating museum-quality pieces, hoisting pianos through windows,
driving tractor-trailers, warehousing, estimating and surveying. A week after
graduating from high school I was in the family business, where I continued to
work for the next 20 years.

I eventually broke away from the Lipsky moving industry in 1988 and
started my own moving company, which I named Last Wagon West, then later
changing the name to Lipsky Transport.  I owned and operated this business
with my own crew for over 12 years."   --Harry M. Lipsky
This is a very common stairway that usually puts a stop to the delivery of large sofas and armoires...........MEASUREMENTS ARE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT
