Pre-Move Strategies was created because of the frustrations of new furniture buyers. As an active participant in the moving industry for nearly forty years, starting with my family-owned business, Lipsky Movers, I have been on the working end of the actual move; from loading and driving a tractor-trailer around the country to warehousing. From hoisting, to piano moving, from protecting precious antiques, to the proper use of stairs for carrying and elevators for transporting between floors.

Before you make that large furniture purchase, and then wait weeks for it to be delivered, only to find out that it just won't fit, wouldn't you like to know ahead of time, if the item is going to be suitable for your house? Hire me and I will survey your room(s), determine stairways, inside and outside, and measure and check for hidden problems or obstructions that you may have not thought of. This information will then be compared with the measurements of your future purchase. If you are moving locally from one home to another, I will survey the home or apartment you are relocating to, to make sure the stairways, hallways and rooms will accomodate your OLD furniture. I can even go to your chosen furniture store with you (if you want me to spend the time), and check out the pieces you are interested in, before they're delivered, because only then would you find out whether the piece of furniture will make it, or that it just won't fit. Before that happens, have a moving mentor survey your home.

Save valuable time and money by knowing ahead that you'll need to make different choices in furniture, or housing, rather than face that ordeal on delivery day. Sales people do a great job informing a customer about the purchase they are about to make. They have to know about the quality, price and delivery time of the furniture. They have to know about fabrics, construction and options about colors and stains. The only problem is that sales people are not professional movers. Dimensions of a piece of furniture must be compared to the measurements of the doorways, stairways, hallways and ceiling heights that the furniture will travel to and through. All this must be taken into consideration when making a purchase. A sofa can be a little larger than the door it is going through and still fit quite well. However, the difference of a mere inch can stop an item from getting through. There is no way to know any of this without spending years in the field and experiencing all sorts of scenarios.
